Site design

After many years of incremental updates and changes, a refresh of the Stitch Fix page was in order. Through a cross-functional effort between marketing, product, creative, user research, and engineering, we explored new ways of communicating the Stitch Fix product and promise. The challenge was to share how Stitch Fix sat at the intersection of style, personal service, and technology to bring customers the a completely unique shopping experience.

1. Hero module

The hero module is designed to be eye-catching and easy to understand. The straightforward format allows us to easily test the performance of different imagery and messaging.

2. What’s in a Fix

User surveys showed that our audience were often confused by how our business model worked. People had trouble understanding what they were actually purchasing and how our clothes looked.

By showing the Fixes of real clients, we’re able to showcase personalization and how we get each person just right.

3. How it works

Here, we focused on articulating how Stitch Fix understands a client’s style, what to expect after someone completes the quiz, and how much the service costs. These were all common questions we heard in user surveys.

4. Departments

We heard feedback that our audience were often unsure whether we had clothing for men, kids, and plus sizes. We designed this module to be quickly glanceable, with an emphasis on diversity, so clients know we have what they’re looking for. It’s also a great module for showing off our latest editorial shoots.

5. Stylists

Another criticism we repeatedly heard was that people didn’t believe our stylists were real. Our Stylist Spotlight highlights members of our very real and very talented styling team.

7. FAQ

Our research showed that people often scrolled all the way to the bottom to read the FAQ, skipping everything in the middle. We made sure to pack in a ton of information at the end for anyone who just wants to dive into the details.
